Hi! I’m Liam, founder of Brighter Pathways.
I’m a UK-based legal psychedelic therapeutic guide, working with psilocybin truffles in Amsterdam where psilocybin is legal, and prescribed medical marijuara, which is increasingly legal in many countries, including the UK.
I’m also a psychedelic preparation and integration specialist, & therapeutic coach. I adopt a trauma-informed, holistic, and relational view using a unique 7 Lens approach that I developed: Internal Family Systems; Grofian (based on the work of Stanislav Grof); Jungian (based on the work of Carl Jung); Mindfulness; Scientific; Shamanic; and Somatic Experiencing. This broad view allows me to flexibly meet your needs, whatever your experience, worldview, or goals. Further, as an over-thinker in recovery, I've come to appreciate that our memories, blocks, emotions, and traumas largely live in the body, and so need to be accessed and released through the body. The mind is a wonderful tool, but we can't simply think our way to betterment. This is why I'm drawn to tools and frameworks that work with and around the protective stories of the mind from our parts (see the IFS section of the My Approach page for what I mean by parts) - psychedelics, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, etc. - in order to target the emotional root and let our innate healing wisdom, evolved over millions of years, work its magic. I also try to underpin my work with a sense of playfulness wherever possible - this is serious work that requires reverence, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a few laughs along the way.
I also encourage the legal and safe use of psychedelics. I will never offer any information about how to source psychedelics where it is unsafe to consume them. Touching on topics such as consciousness and the nature of reality, my work demands humility. There is so much we don’t know, therefore I do not have all the answers. No one does. There are many ways of knowing. I merely present some.
I also believe no guide / therapist / guru / shaman / healer can ever do the healing for you. Healing comes from within, and you are the expert of you. I simply help those that I work with access their own existing innate resources, wisdom, and potential.
Healing and transformation is a life-long project, not a single experience. I’ll help you try to enjoy the journey.

And if you are seeking to have a psychedelic experience, then I encourage you to consider the decision carefully. There is remarkable potential for discovery, betterment, and growth with the intentional use of psychedelics as part of a wider process. However, these experiences need to be done with the utmost care and respect in order to realise the potential. As no two psychedelic experiences are ever the same, this applies as much to seasoned psychonauts as it does to so-called ‘psychedelic naives’ (aka newbies). Further, trust in the guide and trust in the process are arguably the most significant factors for a successful outcome. This is why I include comprehensive information on my website, so you can get a feel for me and my approach, as well as reflecting the level of consideration, care, and support that I include in my guiding service - before, during, and after the experience.

A note on why imagery of fungi is used throughout this website.
If you’re familiar with Suzanne Simard's work, you’ll know that trees and plants aren’t independent units, rather they're nodes that symbiotically share water, nutrients, and carbon-rich sugars with each other through a vast and mysterious subterranean network of fungi, known as mycelium. Adjacent to the Darwinian 'survival of the fittest' narrative we're mostly sold, it's a natural order where connection, collaboration, and reciprocity rule.
Nor are we independent units. The entire planet is in a symbiotic dance with each and every element, of which us humans are merely a tiny part, albeit with a disproportionately large ability to disturb its rhythms. We are nature - we are made of the same building blocks. And we are profoundly interconnected and interdependent. In the words of the late, great philosopher Alan Watts, “We do not ‘come into’ this world; we come out of it, as leaves from a tree. As the ocean ‘waves’, the universe ‘peoples’. Every individual is an expression of the whole realm of nature, a unique action of the total universe.”
